New deal in place for Steelers' Tomlin

Pittsburgh, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin
has reportedly received a contract extension.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Tuesday that Tomlin has agreed to a
three-year deal that will take him through the 2014 season. His previous
contract, the paper said, had a year and an option remaining.
Tomlin has a record of 31-17 in three seasons as Steelers coach and led the
storied franchise to its sixth Super Bowl title after the 2008 campaign. The
team finished 9-7 last year and missed the playoffs, as a five-game losing
streak on the heels of a 6-2 start did them in.
The 38-year-old Tomlin took over after Bill Cowher resigned following the 2006
season. He is just the third coach for the Steelers since 1969, following
Chuck Noll's brilliant 23-year tenure and Cowher's successful 15-year run.
